So grateful for all the questions and encouragement coming in about our Flower Farming School Online courses. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify and explain.

I am sharing some of the questions with you in case you have the same concerns or wondering if the courses are right for you.

First, are these courses right for you? I’ve broken it down for the two courses:

The Basics, Annual Crops, Marketing, and More! with Lisa Mason Ziegler

This course is right for you if you want to:

  • Start or trim your flower farm into a sustainable business and make a profit
  • Stop feeling overwhelmed and want to streamline your to-do lists
  • Setup a working garden for the most production and least maintenance
  • Grow what sells and produce it consistently outdoors in the garden
  • Find your markets and customers
  • Manage your business to have time for family and life

Bulbs, Perennials, Woodies, and More! with Dave Dowling

This course is right for you if you want to:

  • Expand your flower farming business
  • Grow your income by selling more to customers
  • Invest in long term producing perennials and woodies
  • Grow more for the high-demand shoulder seasons
  • Learn the basics of structure growing
  • Expand into year round production

Some of the common questions:

  1. I don’t live in the same region as the instructors, will this information apply to me? This is such a smart question! We have students all over the world. The growing information is offered in a way to apply it to your growing seasons. It is based on first and last frosts, the actual seasons, etc. It’s not to plant “X” plant on “Y” dates. We provide the information to find your proper planting time.
  2. I struggle with pricing my flowers, is there any information on that? Yes. My course (The Basics, Ziegler) includes how to find your local pricing as well as how to reach beyond that on the national level. Dave’s course also offers pricing suggestions.
  3. I have been farming for 5 years and am ready to quit, I can’t get it all done. I have customers, I just can’t keep up, Is this just how it goes with farming? These courses are as much about WHAT NOT TO DO as they are what to do! I wholeheartedly say you can do this and have a life beyond exhaustion. We totally understand, I think I can speak for Dave that until we filled our workday with the important tasks that really make a difference on the business’s bottom line we were also at the end of our rope.
  4. If I am not a commercial flower farmer is it ok to take these courses? Yes! There is no commitment to become a commercial grower. Many that grow for pleasure, charity, or  exploring the possibilities have taken the courses.  Both courses are loaded with information for the avid and advancing gardener, the curious, and those testing the waters of flower farming.

My Promise: If you feel like either of the courses are not benefiting you, I will give you a full refund with no questions asked within 7 days of either of the courses starting.

Something I have learned after years of being a successful flower farmer, teacher, and business owner: when you are most uncomfortable or scared is when the most amazing things happen! If you want to become a flower farmer— we will help you do it!

Hope to meet you in school!
