Flower Farming School Online with Lisa Mason Ziegler

What starts out as a dream-come-true business can quickly turn to endless weeds, flat sales, and overwhelm, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Wondering if you can produce enough on your small space to have a business and to do it with no greenhouse or cooler? Lisa has done it and you can too. This course is her road map sharing the building block steps to becoming a successful flower farmer or how to hit the reset button on an existing flower farming business. Let’s face it, learning to become a flower farmer and a business owner can be hard. Lisa struggled in the early years, but loved what she was doing so much that she set out to learn how to run her urban flower farm more efficiently, earn a profit, and to have a family life beyond the business. This course covers what is needed to start or to scale up a flower farm:

  • How to start a professional flower farm business
  • Building and managing a working garden
  • Using tools of the trade like netting and irrigation
  • Succession planting that boosts the bottom line
  • Learn how to sell and to where
  • How to grow 100% outdoors in the field and garden
  • Annual flowers to grow week after week
  • How-to start seeds
  • Harvesting and conditioning steps
  • And more

Flower Farming School Online offers over 20 hours of instructional videos, PDF downloads of resources and worksheets, plus 5 years of timestamped and searchable Q&A sessions with Lisa. This course has been created for those interested in becoming a flower farmer but is open and helpful for any gardener wanting to learn more about growing flowers. Course cost is $595. Meet Lisa Mason Ziegler

What began as a small cut-flower farm producing for local markets has grown into so much more. Lisa has become a leader in the cut-flower growing industry, author, accomplished speaker, teacher, and the owner of The Gardener’s Workshop. It all began in 1998 because Lisa wanted to work in her garden as her career. At first, she sold her cut flowers to local florists and Colonial Williamsburg. The business soon grew to include florist throughout the Hampton Roads region, supermarkets, farmers markets, a members-only on-farm market, and a bouquet drop-off subscription service. Read more…
