Heirloom pepper that has been passed down from grower to grower for decades. Highly sought after by cut-flower growers, as peppers rise above the foliage, making it quick and easy to strip stems. Especially useful as a fresh cut in the green and red stages and as a dried ornamental for wreaths. Open-pollinated.
Planting Tips:
- A warm-season crop that prefers full sun.
- Plant outdoors after danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed.
- Transplanting is recommended.
- Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before planting date.
- Sow seeds ¼” deep and cover with soil.
- Allow 7-21 days to germinate.
- Space plants 12-18” apart in rows 24-36” apart.
- Once established in the garden, pinch to four leaves to establish a more robust, branching plant.
- Support netting is recommended, as plants fruit heavily.
