Planting Tips:
- A cool-season hardy annual that prefers full sun.
- Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before planting date or cast seeds directly in the garden.
- Lightly cover seeds with soil. Allow 5-14 days to germinate.
- Space plants 6-12” apart in the garden.
- Grows to 36-48” tall.
- 85-95 days to bloom.
- Winter hardy to zone 7.
Keep the Blooms Coming:
- Harvest the central stem at almost ground level, just above the lowest two to three side shoots. Future cuts should be made at the stem base.
- Harvest when ⅓ of the flowers on the bloom are open. Stems can also be harvested once seed heads form.
- Leave a few flower heads on the plants in the garden to encourage reseeding.
