Planting Tips:
- A cool-season hardy annual that prefers full sun.
- Sowing seeds directly in the garden is recommended.
- Cover seeds with soil. Allow 10-14 days to germinate.
- Thin seedlings to 6’’ apart once 5’’ tall.
- Grows to 24” tall.
- 65-70 days to bloom, 80-85 days to pods.
- Winter hardy to zone 6.
Harvesting Tips:
- Harvest the central stem at almost ground level, just above the lowest three to four side shoots.
- Future cuts should be made at the stem base.
- Nigella can be harvested from the moment the blooms are cracking open until the seed pods have developed.
