Zinnia, Benary’s Giant Mix, Zinnia elegans – 50 or 200 seeds avg
Benary’s Giant Zinnias are the most widely grown cut flower because of their huge gorgeous blooms! These large 4-6″ blooms are easy to grow from seed!
Be sure to read ‘Growing Great Zinnias’ by Lisa Mason Ziegler.
Planting Tips:
- Full sun
- 36" H
- Summer annual
- Start seeds indoors to transplant to the garden when 2-3 weeks old or plant seeds directly in the garden after last danger of frost
- Cover seed
- 3-5 days to germinate
- Pinch plants at 12” for branching and space plants 6-9” apart

75-90 days to bloom
Keep the Blooms Coming:
- Harvest the blooms when fully mature
- Make the first harvest cut above the bottom two side shoots, this establishes a branching habit for the season
- Make future cuts at the base of the stem

My zinnias were beautiful last year. I'm hoping they are this year too!
Love all the seeds I have gotten from Gardeners Workshop.
These are the BEST giant zinnias. I order them every year from Gardener’s Workshop and they never disappoint.
I ordered these seeds for next spring so not sure what to expect. Shipping was very fast.
Haven’t planted them yet. Saving for spring 2027. I am hoping they come up.
All pink and purple. Very few orange and red. No yellow or white!

Seeds germinated well. Healthy plants
I love these giant zinnias in my yard. So do the monarchs.

Was really glad that the seed was coated, and a easily visible color to boot. Makes planting much easier and faster.

The seeds sprouted great. However, it is clear that they are very sun dependent; I have a perfect gradient in seedling size from the sunniest end of the row (largest seedlings) to the shadiest end (didn't sprout or still very small). Plant in full sun !
Prompt delivery. Seeds look very healthy
Arrived fast. Got them planted and already started to see sprouts in less than a week.
I did not like that the seeds are coated. Nowhere in prepurchase info did it state or that I easily found that seeds are coated.
I received my order quickly. I am excited to see what these zinnias look like. Will be planting as soon as there is no chance of frost. 😁
