Select, Plant, Grow, and Harvest Gorgeous Blooms

Lisa’s newest and latest book, The Cut Flower Handbook, is for anyone interested in bringing more beauty into their lives by growing cut flowers.

The perfect balance of inspiration and education, The Cut Flower Handbook teaches how Lisa grows and harvests annual cut flowers from seed to bloom while sharing the varieties that have become her tried and true favorites. Learn how the size of your growing area alone determines the success or failure of your cutting garden and when to plant cool-season and warm-season flowers.

Lisa shares her streamlined steps for preparing, locating, and maintaining the cutting garden. Learn why and how she selects the best seed starting method for a specific flower and its favored growing conditions. Lisa also shares her tried and true methods for how she starts seeds –  from soil blocking to growing in plug trays to planting seeds directly in the garden!

Over half the book features specific flowers or flower groups, including growing facts, Lisa’s firsthand experiences with them, tips for home gardeners and flower farmers, harvesting and conditioning steps, and lists of Lisa’s favorite varieties.

Lisa’s logical and nature-driven method is the signature hallmark of her super-successful online flower-farming courses, and it’s one that translates equally well to both small urban backyards and large rural flower farms.

This book is absolutely beautiful and incredibly useful. Lisa has done it again and this time, she has made a book that includes all you need to know for both cold hardy annuals and warm season annuals. My favorite part (other than the pictures) is the quick reference list of each hardy annual and the lowest temperature it can tolerate. It helps me so much with knowing what I need to protect when we get a cold snap. No more googling each variety! Thank you Lisa!

  2. Kellie Gross

I love this book! So much information and beautiful pictures! A must have for anyone wanting to grow cool season flowers!

  3. Gwendolyn Boinovych

Lisa Mason Zeigler did an awesome job writing The Cut Flower Handbook! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The information she presented will have me referring to it time and time again for help. Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your experiences with us, so that we can learn. May God bless you as you continue to reach out to others with your knowledge in teaching!

  4. Susan Gordon

I have all of Lisa’s books. This is my new favorite! I visited my daughter in Virginia to plant cool flowers with her that I had started in New Hampshire taking my book with me. It went to the garden as I lost track of which transplant was which and this book includes pictures of early plants in the garden. I ended up leaving my book with Samantha and will be buying another! I concur with another reviewer’s comment that it would be great having laminated cards of each flower with critical information – it would be so helpful in the garden! Maybe your next project Lisa?
