Soil Block Maker, Small - Makes Twenty 3/4" Blocks
Soil blocking is a simple and easy way to start seeds in a home setting. In the area of 12" x 26" you can start and support 240 soil blocked plants until they go to the garden. There are no pots or trays to store or purchase each year. We use trays without drainage holes so it can be done anywhere indoors. We find that the seedlings are healthier, grow quicker, and in general hit the ground running and suffer no transplant shock. * This blocker is transitioning to a black finish. During this change, you may receive either a silver or black soil blocker. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience.

I found that the 3/4 inch and the 2 inch soil blocker well made and easy to use. I made a mistake of packing the soil too tightly and thus some of my seeds could not break through the packed cube. I will continue to use the soil blockers to begin seeds but not pack the soil so tightly. I also purchased the seed starting soil and other items. So glad I got the soil block. Have larger size but small size is needed and so handy. No plastic, bo containers. Soil blocks are just the wat to go.
The plants I have growing in these little soil blocks are healthier and happier looking than the same plant growing in traditional seed trays!
It wasn't quite as sturdy as I thought it'd be, but it'll work just fine.
The first one I purchased 4-5 years ago busted. contacted customer service and a new one was sent. Since receiving my replacement I have made over 800 soil blocks with most planted in snapdragon seeds and stock seeds. Some feverfew and salvia. Couldn't be happier

The soil blocker is absolutely the best way to start seeds, a huge space saver and soil saver. I have some healthy plant babies ready for the cool season planting. Seed Blocking. I resisted and resisted until i stopped resisting because of the stellar results achieved by friends, and not tiny pots cluttering their spaces. Just to day, I transplanted the seed blocks I made weeks ago. So much easier and no clutter. Healthy transplants ready to take off once they feel the prepped bed soil.
I love it so much can't help but tell others about it. Gifted one to my son. He loves it too.
All items were as expected. The blocker works well.

This was so fun to use! I'm not sure how nessessary it is - most could get away with just using the next size up, but it does save you from making large blocks for those seeds that just never germinate. I'm happy with the purchase, and would get it again knowing what I know now.

Smaller than I thought it would be. The seedlings did sprout quickly but I did transplant them into pots as the quickly outgrew the soil squares. Wish I had the larger size.

Very small and hard to keep watered evenly. Only a few seeds germinated.

It was waaaay smaller than realized and I'm having trouble getting g the Lil soil cubes to stay as little soil cubes, even bottom watering has it all condensed into a sheet of soil. ItIS growing the seeds though, but I'm still usi g a lil plastic container to "start them in so kinda immpeeds the notion of "not needing lil plastic containers"... I definitley wish I would have known the lil compartments were sooooo tiny, definitley should have purchased a larger one....

We liked the block maker, but ended up having to use plastic trays because the blocks didn’t hold together.
Love it for small seeds as it uses less space to get them started, then move them up to 2 inch blocks.
