Starting to Fall Plant!

by | Oct 8, 2012

This is the week I have been waiting for all summer!

It’s the beginning of planting the fall-planted spring blooming plants. It is like washing away the heat and frustration of summer and renewing with fresh plants and hope for spring. This year’s garden location is in the garden nearest the road, so our neighbors will be full of questions about next April I will forecast. Seeing us plant in fall, over-wintering the plants in the garden and seeing them burst into action in early spring will create chit-chat over the fence for sure.

We made the beds Saturday afternoon in quick fashion using our John Deere and the bed layer implement known as Rozanne. In just two hours we made 13 seventy foot beds, put down irrigation and laid the biodegradable film on the beds and Roxanne even tucks in the sides! I sight to behold.

Don’t be afraid–fall plant hardy annuals!
