Beautiful, button-like blooms with papery white ”petals” (bracts) and yellow centers. Excellent for fresh or dried use. Also known as Winged Everlasting.
Planting Tips:
- A cool-season hardy annual that prefers full sun.
- Considered a tender perennial in its native Australia.
- Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before planting date or cast seeds directly in the garden.
- Lightly cover seeds with soil. Allow 4-8 days to germinate.
- Space plants 6-9” apart in the garden.
- Grows to 20-36” tall.
- 70-80 days to maturity.
- Winter hardy to zone 7.
Harvesting Tips:
- For the best quality fresh and dried flowers, harvest when the white bracts are not completely open and before the yellow center is visible.
- Make the cut at ground level.
- Additional stems emerge from the base.
