A dazzling rainbow of colored stems support shiny green and bronze leaves. Stems may be red, pink, orange, yellow, purple, or white. Open-pollinated.

Planting Tips: 

  • A cool-season crop that prefers full sun.
  • Start seeds indoors 5-6 weeks before planting date or sow seeds directly in the garden.
  • Sow seeds ½” deep and cover with soil.
  • Allow 5-7 days to germinate.
  • Space plants 4-6” apart in rows 12-18” apart.
  • Chard prefers cool, mild conditions but has some heat tolerance.
  • 55 days to maturity from direct sowing date.

Harvesting Tips: 

  • Cut leaves individually (when young or fully mature) to harvest.
  • The plant will produce additional leaves for multiple harvests.
  • Plant successions every month for a steady supply.
